Fringe - Episode 1 - Pilot

Hi Friends!

So yes it's been a while but since LOST is off the air a friend suggested during the hiatus I write about JJ Abrams new series "Fringe" which certainly parallels my fave show LOST. I won't stick to any sort of format just a general review and how it connects to LOST of course.

So What's It All About?
So the show centers around Olivia an FBI agent who through a series of unfortunate events, finds a crazy old scientist to help solve some of her less traditional cases, the first of which being an entire plane was wiped out by a harmful chemical substance. This of course affects her personally when her lover and partner falls victim to an attack. In hopes of saving his life she creates a rag tag team of FBI agents, crazy scientists and his hot son Pacey Whitter (If a character is from another show I will of course be using that name, plus I love Pacey, who names their kid Pacey?) to figure out how to get the information out of her unconscious partner to track down the ruthless killer.

Fringe Connects to LOST?
So what is the connection to LOST you are asking? Well despite the obvious international plane scene (what does JJ have against airplanes? Is he trying to take down the industry?), we also had a few "easter eggs" for us LOST enthusiasts. Of course Abbadon, who in this show is FBI head agent Phillip Broyles (and also scary as hell!) looks to be having a large roll in the show, but also the numbers came through. I saw a distinct #42 as the room they were in at the mental hospital. Also the musical composer is Michael Giacchino, the same from LOST. Then not necessarily a connection but there is an evil corporation, a la Dharma Initiative, that is using the world as it's laboratory at the expense of human lives. Another connection was at the commercial break we saw a commercial promoting this company called Massive Dynamic. Also in the show we see a billboard for the company with the slogan "What don't we do?" inferring that this company controls the world.

Random Thoughts
1. Pacey is hot. In a TV season where they haven't chosen good leading characters (i.e. 90210) this show knows how to cast. Cute chick, hot guy, clearly this romance will be one I can obsess about, something of a Mulder and Scully, Boothe and Bones type. As much as I hate it, I feel like a shows only chance to keep the viewers hooked is to keep the love interests apart for as long as possible ... something perhaps Grey's anatomy should give it a try, but don't even get me started on that horrible show.
2. Science Fiction - clearly that's what this show centers around. The idea of Fringe science, telekinesis, mind control, etc. Sounds awesome and limitless. I especially like how they apply it to real life, saying how they will investigate the causes of global disasters. I'm liking how each week will look to be different story lines and rather linear, unlike LOST which I'll admit is confusing.
3. Government conspiracy ... looks like we'll have tons of traitors and unlikely allies to come. I didn't see the almost dead boyfriend turning bad, which we're led to assume but makes sense to the story line. We had to have a reason for Olivia to go to extremes so he had to live for all her efforts and prove that she needs crazy Dr. Walter Bishop, but in the end kill him and make him bad to clear the way for some Pacey and Olivia lovin!

So I think I've covered my favorite aspects of the show. If you haven't then I strongly urge you catch the encore this week. If you love LOST and all things JJ Abrams then you will enjoy this, unless you hate science fiction in which case you shouldn't be reading this.

Until next time!

Episode 13 - There's No Place Like Home (Parts 2-3)

Hi Everyone!

So it is with regret that I write my last entry for a while since this marks the end of season four and we are more than half way done with the glorious show called Lost. Now, you have to promise to keep me updated if you change emails or at least keep the link and check it out if you are still loving Lost next season. It won't be returning until February of 2009 so please keep in touch!

So now, a short short summary because if you didn't watch it, well then don't bother reading!

THE ORCHID / JUNGLE / HELICOPTER
Jack and Sayer catch up with Locke and Hurley at the Orchid station. Locke tells Jack that he must lie if he ever gets off the island. Jack leaves with the others to find the helicopter where Ben is being brought by Keamy. When Ben reaches the helicopter, Kate comes out of the jungle with the others right behind her. A gunfight ensues and the others are victorious. Ben leaves to return to the Orchid station to help Locke after he assures Kate that she can leave the island for helping him escape Keamy's team. Ben arrives at the Orchid station to find Locke stumped by his directions. He and Locke leave Jack and the others and take the elevator down to the Orchid station. Ben opens a secret hatch door and begins loading all things metal into it. He asks Locke to watch a video which explains that the room reacts to the magnetic force on the island and metal should never be put inside. He hints that it is responsible for time traveling. As they are preparing the small room, Keamy comes down in the elevator and a fight ensues. Ben kills Keamy after he says that he is hooked up to explosives on the boat that his friends are on. Ben puts on his Dharma coat and tells Locke to lead his people. He then proceeds to a cold corridor where he turns a giant wheel allowing him to move the island. Back in the jungle, Jack and the others arrive and load up the helicopter. They head off toward the freighter when they realize they are losing fuel. Sawyer takes one for the team and after whispering to and kissing Kate, he leaps into the ocean. They arrive back on the freighter only to find Desmond screaming for them to refuel and leave. They grab Sun, Aaron, and Desmond and leave only to watch it explode. The helicopter crashes into the water as they are heading back to the island only to witness it disappear after a bright light. They find a raft and float until they reach a boat. On the raft, they decide, per Jack's persuasion, to lie to the world. The boat that finds them is owned by Penny Whidmore who is finally reunited with Desmond. The Oceanic 6 are then sent ashore after a week on Penny's boat to be rescued.

THE FREIGHTER
Desmond, Michael, and Jin attempt to keep the explosives from detonating by using the last tank of nitrogen . When the red light does go off, they have less than five minutes to get off the boat. Michael tells Jin to go and Christian Shephard appears to him to let him know it is his time to go. Jin is on the boat when it explodes.

THE BEACH
Sawyer washes ashore to find Juliet. She is getting drunk after watching the freighter blow up. Back on the beach Daniel urges that Charlotte come with him and she tells him she is staying. Miles knows she is looking for her birthplace which we are led to believe is the island.

FLASH FORWARD
Kate and Jack pick up from the season three finale with a furious Kate. She is angry with Jack for asking her to go back and not being there to read to Aaron. She refuses to go back, even when Jack shows her the obituary for Jeremy Bentham. We learn when Walt visits Hurley in the mental institution that they have also been visited by the mysterious Jeremy Bentham who appears to have accidentally died, though they believe it was a murder. Hurley tells Walt that they are lying to protect the people on the island. Sayid also comes to visit Hurley after assassinating a man who is waiting outside. He tells Hurley they need to leave because "circumstances have changed". Hurley ends his chess game with an invisible Mr. Eko. Sun finds herself in England approaching Mr. Whidmore as the managing director of Paik Industries. She reminds him that she is not the only person who escaped the island. Kate finds herself at home asleep woken by a mysterious phone call. She goes to find Aaron and instead finds Claire holding Aaron in his room. She warns Kate not to take him to the island and Kate wakes from her dream, runs to Aaron, and tells him she's sorry. In the end scene, we see Jack break into the funeral parlor to open the casket. Inside we find that Jeremy Bentham, who has visited all of the Oceanic 6 to ask them to return to the island, is actually John Locke. Ben appears and asks Jack to begin to convince the other five that they need to return to the island.

Okay so I lied, it wasn't that short. But give me a break, it was 2 hours! So for the last time until next year, here is my top ten!

1. Woah, so you're telling me the next two season involves Jack gathering up his posse and taking them BACK to Lost island? Sounds good to me ... he has to win back Kate, gather his friends, and head back to a beautiful island? My only beef with this whole plot line is Jacob's list. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley were never on it, so why does the island want them back to badly? I thought Jacob only wanted good people ... why does Ben need them to return?

2. Ben is hands down the most awesome character. The comment about killing all the people on the boat .... "So?" It was great. And this whole Locke being the leader now, total crap. Ben has been and will always be in charge. He's still working for Jacob post island, hence why he is trailing the Oceanic 6 to get back to LOST island and tracking down Whidmore to end his desire to find the island. Like he said, he always has a plan. I feel badly for him, I thought we were going to get to see him reunite with Annie this season, oh well, probably next season.

3. As much as I love Jack and Kate, and don't get me wrong, I LOVE them! But, I also love Sawyer. So courageous for jumping out of the plane, and I love a good shirtless Sawyer scene just as much as the next lady ... but it was kind of a lame exit because we knew when he left Kate there would be the task he asks of her. It was weird as far as the love triangle but we all know Jack and Kate end up together. True love. haha. BUT, I am NOT liking the implications of when Sawyer washed up on shore with Juliet. I don't think she deserves one hot man let alone two! Ugh, I really hate Juliet, I'm glad her character has taken a back seat towards the end of the season.

4. I have to say, I am impressed about the whole moving the island thing. It was a very cool visual, and how freaked out would you be if you were on that helicopter and your destination just disappeared? So Ben moved it, but is now banished from the island. Maybe that's why he needs everyone to return, so Jacob will let him return. But also about the helicopter crash- that is one resilient baby that Aaron. How does a baby not drown in that? All eight of them survived? Yeah okay.

5. The best moment of the whole episode belongs to Penny and Desmond. I was so happy when they reunited! Finally a happy ending for one couple! It was tender, I love them. Very fitting end when Jack said goodbye, but it sounds better when Desmond says it ... "See you in anotha life brotha!"

6. Jeremy Bentham. I have to say I had some pure anger in the beginning of the episode when they said that was his name. Because we all hate when Lost tries to introduce new characters. I had thought it was Ben but alas, it was Locke. Thank god because he has been so annoying this season. And he looked like a fat Uncle Fester. But we for sure haven't seen the last of him, we're clearly going to see his off island visits to the Oceanic 6 in episodes to come. You know who they should bring back from the dead? Ethan and Goodwin, bring back the others, I miss them!

7. Charlotte wanted to stay on the island. I'm still so intrigued by the three "scientists". Now I'm about to drop a lot of lost dorkiness on you but apparently the character Charlotte was named after C.S. Lewis who wrote the "Chronicles of Narnia" series and in book two, the kids return to Narnia and jump in the water as a sort of rebirth. Now when Charlotte landed on the island she fell in water and appeared to be happy about it. And this theory is confirmed because we are led to believe that Charlotte was born on this island and she has returned to fulfill her life destiny or something. Wow. Huge dork right here. But I'm curious to find out more about her connection with the island, is she lost Dharma? An other? Richard Alpert's baby? haha who knows.

8. Micheal is gone-zo! Thank GOD! He was the worst! blah blah blah he repaid his debt or whatever, good riddance I'm glad to see him go. Boring story, adios Michael!

9. Jin is so not dead. We didn't see him die which is something they always show in Lost. He's such a huge character, if he was going to die, they wouldn't have made it so vague. But Sun clearly thinks he is. That was a sad part.

10. Last but not least, the island. So yes we know there is a magnetic anomaly of some sort, and that room was built near it for experiments. But the room is not the magic box, although it would have been a good explanation for it. I guess we have to have some suspension of disbelief and think that time travel and all that jazz is what makes this island unique. This Casimir effect, god I hope they have a good explanation beside magnetic effect or magical powers. Actually if they said magical powers I'd probably be cool with that.

So that's it folks. I hope you enjoyed the first season of my email between my two friends turned blog turned global sensation! Haha just kidding, who knows which one of you actually read it. For those of you who do, stay in touch and for goodness sake, make a comment, it's the last one until next year :)

Episode 12 - There's No Place Like Home - Part 1

Ah! Season 4 of LOST is coming to an end. It seems like only yesterday I was watching the season premiere with my bud Sarah, (sans our wizard costumes Stephen) ... haha. All in all it's shaping up to be a great season ... and although last night wasn't one of my faves, it was still very interesting. Let's get on with it then, shall we?

FLASH FORWARD
The Oceanic 6 are being transported on a military plane back to a base on Hawaii. They are waiting to land while a representative for Oceanic tells them that they are a big deal and that there is a ton of press waiting to talk to them. Jack agrees that they will talk to the world and reassures the rest of the Oceanic 6 that they will stick with their story and not answer any questions they don't have the answer to. He tells them to blame it on being shocked to which Sun agrees that they all are actually in shock. The plane lands and when the back opens, the Oceanic 6 run to their families. Jack to his mom, Hurley to his entire family, Sun to her parents, and the rest have no relatives to greet them. They attend the press conference where Kate is asked about her pregnancy. She claims to have given birth to Aaron on the island, making her six months pregnant when she crashed. They also claimed that the plane landed in the water and they waded for a day until the current carried them to shore. Everyone else died on impact. After the press conference, Sayid is greeted by Nadia. The Oceanic 6 remain friends after the crash. They attend Hurley's Island themed surprise birthday party where his father gives him the car they've been working on since they were kids. Hurley freaks out when he gets in the car and the speedometer has the numbers from his past. We also see the Oceanic 6 attend Jack's father's funeral where he says goodbye to his father and is approached by a blond Australian woman. She tells Jack that Christian was the father to her child and that her child, Claire, was also on board flight 815 and died. Jack is stunned by the revelation that Claire is his sister and Aaron his nephew. Back in Korea, Sun's father is upset that a shareholder has purchased parts of his company using five separate banks. Sun comes in to see him and he asks about the baby. She tells him never to ask since he hated her husband. She also informs him that with her large settlement from the crash, she is the one who purchased his company and that they are now partners.

BEN & CO.
Locke, Hurley, and Ben continue through the jungle towards the station the Orchid to move the island. Following Ben, he travels to a secret place where he uses a mirror to communicate with someone to see if it is safe to continue on to the Orchid. Ben reassures Locke and Hurley that he always has a plan. When they reach it, they find that Keamy and his team have already arrived. Panicked, Ben tells Locke exactly what to do in the Orchid station to move the island. He then gives himself up to Keamy and his team. They knock Ben unconscious.

THE BEACH
Jack and the others wonder about the satellite phone that was dropped from the helicopter. When they turn it on, they can overhear Keamy's conversation. They realize Desmond and Sayid were not on the chopper but Kate and Jack, despite Juliet's protests, travel into the jungle after it. They run into Miles and Sawyer who is holding Aaron. He tells them how Claire just left and they spent a day looking for her. Kate takes Aaron back to the beach while Sawyer and Jack continue on. Kate returns to the beach to give Aaron to Sun and she and Sayid who has reached the beach run off after Jack and Sawyer. Daniel takes about six people, Sun and Jin included back to the boat. Kate and Sayid try to track Jack and Sawyer only to realize that they are being tracked by Richard Alpert and the others. Jack and Sawyer reach the Orchid station. Back on the boat, the first of the survivors reach and Sun and Jin are surprised to see Michael working on the boat. He tries to tell them that he is not working for Ben and he's trying make up for what he did when Desmond calls to him to come to the engine room. There they find tons of explosives.

On to the discussion. Also, add your comments, I get bored just reading what I wrote.

1. So I truly thought that the end of the series would be the rescue, but I guess with the invention of the flash forward, we realized that their lives post island would be just as important as pre-island. My guess is that we will still visit the losties stuck on the island and see more of an attempt from the Oceanic 6 to get back to the island, perhaps the finale even being that they get back to it. But despite that, the rescue scene was awesome. It kind of gave me chills. What a weird situation that would be. It was very tender when they were all reunited with their families.

2. So the scene where Jack found out about Claire wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping somehow Sawyer would connect the two .. but that was an intense scene. I guess that becomes the reason why he and Kate don't work out at first. I'm so sad it didn't happen while he was on the island ... maybe something happens where she comes back from Jacob's crew and Jack urges her to stay or something so now he feels guilty. Also, I'm a little surprised we didn't see any tears, I thought for sure his dad's funeral and realizing he left his sister behind and gave his nephew to Kate would conjure some up for sure!

3. Keamy is really scary. And when I saw him at the Orchid station I jumped. Speaking of the Orchid station, it's a greenhouse but not really? Obviously there would be an underground facility. And why didn't Ben just move the island in the first place. Yeah yeah it's dangerous but I'm pretty sure it's been dangerous the whole time. So now Locke has to move the island, I won't even try to guess how he will do that.

4. It was sort of mean for Hurley's mom to pick an island theme for his birthday. I think he spent enough time out there. But lots of easter eggs (LOST clues) in this episode. Geronimo Jackson music at the party, they were on the island for 108 days, the numbers on Hurley's dashboard.

5. Sooo no one else thinks it's weird that Kate was supposed to be 6 months preggers before she got on the plane? Hello, the marshall was with her! I'm sure he would have informed his team that she was pregnant. I think this will end badly for Kate. Someone is going to realize this and take Aaron away. I wouldn't be too upset if we never saw Aaron again, does that make me a bad person?

6. So Sun and Aaron are on the boat. And the rest of the Oceanic 6 are back traipsing around the island. So how do they all meet up again and get off the island? Maybe Sun and Aaron are the only people on the boat to make it off after Michael finally does blow it up and the others find her? Highly unlikely I think ... but maybe they volunteer to go back once they all meet up again because it is the least attractive option. Like staying on the island is better because Lock will move it but Sun goes back to have her baby, Kate goes back for Jack and Aaron, and Sayid because he is awesome.

7. So Michael tries to prove to Sun and Jin that he's sorry and he's there to help. Nice try but I wouldn't ever trust him. Ugh I just hate Michael. And give me a break that he acts all surprised about the explosives, that's the whole reason he's on the boat. To blow it up!

8. Yay Richard Alpert and the others are back! Its weird to think how scared I was of them in seasons 1 and 2 and now I'm happy to see them. Perhaps Ben was right, he is one of the good guys, but that's yet to be determined. So what is the secret to Richard's agelessness? I think he'll help Kate and Sayid because everyone except Keamy has the same goal, to protect the island from being blown up. So maybe they'll all swoop in to the Orchid station, destroy Keamy and his crew and save Jack, Sawyer, Ben, etc.

9. Ben is awesome. When he told John he always has a plan I totally believe that. Who was it that he was flashing the mirror to? Jacob? It couldn't be Richard and the other others because they were near Kate who was at least an hour behind. So I guess the only answer is Jacob. It would be interesting if we find out this season who he is. I heard we find out this season who is in the coffin ... I'll stick with Locke. He's gonna turn uber bad at the end. Either him or Ben.

10. So Sun was kick ass in this episode. Her father ruined her and Jin's life so she is returning the favor. So looks like Jin won't be returning to her post island but she can vindicate that by controlling her father and her company. Now that's some vengence but still very awesome.

So looks like we have to wait two weeks for the big Keamy vs. Ben vs. Jack and co. for the big Orchid show down. I'm clearly rooting for Jack and his hotness and it should be awesome. So next week I don't think there is an episode unless they play the first hour of the finale and then repeat it the following week before the hour closer. So if there is a new episode next week I'll be here for another update!

Okay now I'm demanding you all to post your theories ... I hate being the only one!

Episode 11 - Cabin Fever

Hi Everyone! Okay so what an episode ... like recent episodes, it confirmed a lot of our suspicions and didn't reveal anything too ground breaking but awesome nonetheless. Season four is shaping up to be one of my favorites! So let's get to it! Feel free to skip the plot summary although to be honest, I don't really want to write it so it's going to be skimpy.

LOCKE
Locke, Ben, and Hurley travel through the jungle in search of casa de Jacob. Locke has a dream vision about Horace Goodspeed to tells John to find him if he wants to find Jacob. When he wakes, they traipse back to the place where Ben shot Locke just days before and he explores the dead bodies for Horace's. He finds a map to the cabin in his uniform pocket. Hurley discovers that Ben helped to kill all of the people in the pit and is no longer the special one. They travel onward to locate the cabin and when they find it, only Locke goes inside. Once inside, he asks for Jacob but Christian Shephard appears and says he can answer for him. He introduces himself as Christian and then Claire appears in the corner of the room very calm and relaxed, welcoming Locke. Locke wants to know why he is there and Christian says there is no time for these questions, only one. Locke asks how he can save the island to which Christian reveals to him. Locke returns to Ben and Hurley and tells them they need to move the island.

FLASH FORWARD
Locke's mother was a teenage mother dating a guy twice her age. She was hit by a car while running away from her mother to him and as a result, John was born prematurely. When Emily was allowed to see her baby, she ran away from it and the mother wanted to put him up for adoption. Several times in John's life Richard Alpert comes to see him. He tests John as a little boy to see which object he would choose. He disappoints Alpert when John chooses the knife over the other island objects. Once again as a teen John refuses to attend Mittelos summer camp claiming "No one tells me what I can't do" a familiar mantra of his. We then see John in rehab being helped by the orderly Abbadon. He tries to force John to use his legs on the stairs and become something greater but John again refuses to see this and Abbaddon suggest the walkabout for when he is ready.

BOATIES
Keamy and company return to the boat. They are roughed up from Smokey and the doctor tends to them. Keamy and his men suit up for another trip to the island, this time with a strange device attached to his arm. Keamy realizes that Michael was the one who was giving Ben information and he tries to shoot him, only to have his gun jam. Keamy suits up to return when the captain tries to prevent him as does Frank the pilot. At that moment, they receive a message in Morse code from the losties. Clearly the time on the island and the time on the boat are different because this message said the doctor washed ashore when he was still on the boat. In an effort to get Frank in the chopper, Keamy kills the captain and the doctor. As they headed off towards the island, Sayid had jumped in a raft to go save his losties while Desmond stayed on the boat. Back on the island the chopper flew over the beach and a backpack dropped from it with a satellite phone inside.

haha well so much for skimpy, on to the discussion!

1. Move the island. So this idea I'm not so sure I love. So Locke has the power now, not Ben to take care of the island. It makes sense since the island is so hard to find, but why move the island? Why run and hide Jacob? Don't even get me started on how the hell you move an island. I'm interested to see how this one plays out.

2. Severe lack of my man jack in this episode. I was glad they threw us a little bone at the end ... I think that Frank threw the pack out of the chopper. He probably wants them to contact the boat since he has all of Keamy and the bad people with him, they can all get to the boat and escape. So perfect timing that Sayid is coming back for them. My question is how will they decide who gets on the raft. Looks like in next week's preview is the flash forward to them getting rescued, it looks awesome.

3. So last night's episode sparked a lengthy conversation between myself and my roommate about time travel. Now, I'm a sci-fi dork, I don't think its a secret anymore, but we had an interesting debate. I think time travel is certainly possible, and LOST wants to accept that it is as well. Now, LOST is clearly toying with the idea of time travel with the Desmond flashbacks, the Morse code message about the doctor, and even the appearance of the ghosts on and off the island. I think present time is the boat. The island is located in the future. The travel between the two times is what is causing people to get sick if they can't handle it. Sayid appears to be fine but Desmond is thrown back and forth, same with Wachowski. Keamy seems fine too, as does Daniel and Charlotte, so maybe the time travel depends on the person? Does Ben time travel to get on and off the island? Does Richard Alpert and Abbaddon?

4. Richard Alpert - So i love this guy, he's very intriguing. He doesn't age or does he time travel? I think he doesn't age ... part of the island. So it seems that he has been tracking John all his life. He asks John to choose which item belongs to him. I think he wanted him to choose the sand signifying the island but John chose the knife. They try again several more times throughout his life. How did they know he was going to be special? Is he special because he hasn't proved it to me yet?! He's just a crazy old bald man in my opinion. And he was an ugly kid. Haha.

5. So Claire and Christian in the cabin. I expected to see both of them ... I didn't expect Claire to be so calm. It's going to be awesome when Jack sees his dad again and finds out that Claire is his half sister. I wonder if they will reunite Claire and Aaron, I doubt it. I bet they will all think Claire went crazy or something and not give Aaron back to her, thinking he would be better off of the island. I think maybe she's already dead, just like Christian and is now working with Jacob. Maybe her death will be a flashback. Also, why is Christian so important to the LOST mythology. I get why he was important for Jack, Jack is the way he is because of his father, but what does he have to do with the island?

6. Hands down I am scared of the cabin. When they look for it, talk about it, think about it, I get scared. I'm scared now just typing this. Could be the fact that I watch LOST in the dark but it's scary as hell. Why does it move? If the house can move then the island can move I suppose. Who is Jacob and why is Christian speaking for him? Does Whidmore know about Jacob? Is that what the backup protocol was that Keamy pulled out of the safe? Did he get a map to Jacob's just like Locke had from Horace? How does Whidmore know???

7. Locke's flashbacks, as my roommate Maureen mentioned, the only flashbacks and flashforwards we've seen that aren't told through the perspective of the losties are those of Ben and Locke, and it was of their births. What could be the significance of it? Is it because they are "special"? And why is Ben not special anymore? Both their mother's play an important role. They come from loving mothers, even though Locke's was afraid and abandoned him, and both from terrible fathers. Maybe Ben and Locke are somehow related! Highly unlikely.

8. Abbadon, now he is scary. He appears as an orderly and after inferring that he would push Locke down the stairs just to see if he could fight his disability, he suggests that John go on his infamous walkabout in Australia. This makes me wonder if these people brought John to Australia and crashed his plane just to get him to the island, since all of their other attempts to get him there failed. And if that's the case, why didn't they just crash the first plane he was on? Abbadon was in charge of recruiting the scientists for the island, why did he bring them there? How does he differ from Keamy's mission? Keamy seems to be working for Whidmore but so does Abbadon, and they have very different missions. Seems like Abaddon is part of the island and wants to explore it while Keamy wants to destroy it. What's Whidmore's biz???

9. Keamy is off to destroy the island. He's got some sort of super bomb thing attached to his arm, if that's what it is. He's the "bad people" that Ben was talking about. Why is there a mix on the boat? Obviously people were brought on this mission without fully knowing what they were getting themselves in to. I was sad they killed off the captain, he seemed genuine to want to help the losties.

10. Easter Eggs - these are the little clues LOST throws to the viewers. There were a few. The Geronimo Jackson poster in teenage Locke's locker and the comic book on the table with the city floating above the city which is not unlike the season 4 promos? Let me know if you spotted anymore!

So it was mostly questions I asked this week because I'm kind of in the dark about a lot of this stuff. I feel like since they have confirmed the supernatural sci-fi aspect of the show, it can pretty much go anywhere. I guess the more interesting parts are about the characters and their motives for their actions. I'm really interested in finding out more about Whidmore and his role with the island. Here's what I hope happens soon: Desmond/Penny reuniting, Ben winning an Emmy because he seriously is the best character on tv, kate and jack just being awesome, keamy vs locke fight, and finally the rescue.

Only 2 more episodes ... feel free to comment because i love a LOST discussion :)

Episode 10 - Something Nice Back Home

Hello Friends! Sorry for the delay, I've been a busy girl lately but hopefully the summary will refresh your memory. If you feel like you don't need it, feel free to skip to my 10 points. WARNING: there is a lot of gushing about you know who!

Also, I reformatted the summary to try to make it shorter and clearer. Each storyline gets its own paragraph. It's a little choppy but I wanted to keep it free from comments.

Summary:

BEACH
In the beginning of the episode, Jack woke up to find that he wasn't feeling so well and Juliet determines that Jack's ailment is appendicitis. She starts to gather tools to perform the surgery when she asks Sun and Jin to go to the maternity ward to gather things. Daniel and Charlotte agree to go with them to help. Rose and Bernard chat about Jack's illness and that the island doesn't let people get sick. Bernard suggests that Jack offended the gods to get sick. Jack tells Juliet that he wants to watch the surgery by having Kate holding a mirror and Juliet tries to argue but Jack is adamant that Kate be a part of the surgery. As Sun and company reach the medical station, Jin discovers that Charlotte can understand Korean. We also learn that Dan has a crush on Charlotte. They wonder where all the power is coming from and Charlotte wants to add that question to the list. Jin confronts Charlotte about her being able to speak Korean and she tries to deny it but when Jin threatens to hurt Daniel, Charlotte agrees that Sun will be on the chopper when it leaves the island. They begin the surgery and Jack starts to freak out from the pain. Juliette asks Bernard to put Jack out and for Kate to leave. After the surgery Kate goes in to see Jack while Juliette is stitching him up. Juliette assures Kate that everything is fine and she admits that Jack kissed her but it wasn't for her, he was trying to prove that he loves someone else. Kate thanks her and Juliette tells Jack that she knows he heard the whole thing.

FLASH FORWARD
This week's flash forward is for Jack and it begins when Jack answers the house phone and hops in the shower with Kate. Jack is living with Kate and Aaron and Jack reads Alice in Wonderland to Aaron. Kate says she's glad Jack changed his mind about Aaron. Later, Jack thinks he sees his father at his office when he receives a call from Santa Rose about Hurley. He goes to pay him a visit where Hurley explains how he thinks all of the survivors are dead and never left the island. Jack tries to rationally explain that they left the island and Hurley is surprised he is living with Aaron, he equates their life now to heaven and Jack admits he's happy. Hurley says he was happy until he saw Charlie and Hurley explains how Charlie predicted that Jack would come by and to give him a message that "you're not supposed to raise him Jack". A clearly agitated Jack refutes the possibility that this could be in reference to Aaron. Hurley's parting words were that Charlie said someone would be visiting Jack soon. Jack wakes Kate up after his visit to Santa Rosa and proposes to her after she reassures him he's a good father. Off the island Jack is at work late when he is distracted by a broken smoke alarm. He walks outside to discover his father, Christian, sitting in the lobby. He's in his funeral outfit. Before a conversation can begin another doctor comes out and writes a prescription for Jack so he can calm down, per Jack's request. Jack returns home to hear Kate on the phone saying that she can stay for at least and hour because Jack is never home before 8. Jack begins his pill popping. Soon Jack is home waiting for Kate the next day and a dressed up Kate comes in, surprised to see Jack home early. He asks where Kate was and she confesses that she was out doing something for Sawyer. Kate asks Jack to clean himself up before he is around her son to which Jack retorts that she isn't even related to him in front of Aaron.

JUNGLE
Sawyer, Claire, and Miles are walking through the jungle when Miles hears the events that transpired in the place they currently are. He hears the deaths of Danielle and Karl and they discover their bodies buried beneath them. Miles freaks saying he isn't friends with the boaties and he didn't sign up for this. Back in the jungle the newly protective Sawyer gives Miles a restraining order from Claire. Miles, Sawyer, and Claire run into Lupidus, the chopper pilot and he warns them that Keamy is coming and they need to hide because he will kill them. Lupidus urges Keamy's crew to leave saying they need to get back to the chopper before nightfall. Claire & co are asleep in the jungle when Claire wakes up to see Christian holding her baby. She follows him into the jungle. Sawyer wakes up to find that Claire is gone. Miles says she wasn't alone and went off into the jungle with her dad. Sawyer finds Aaron near a tree.

1. OMG OMG OMG, all my lost dreams have come true. The show could end because I know Jack and Kate end up together!! Okay, I know what you're thinking, yes they aren't officially together at the end of the episode but she does choose Jack and they do heart each other. Nice try LOST trying to make me think that it wasn't Kate in the shower. But I'm too smart for you because I knew it had to be her, who else could it be?! So Juliette sucks and her input in the love triangle is ovaaaa! She admitted to Kate that Jack kissed her and it wasn't meant for her. CLEARLY jack has always loved Kate, welcome to the table Juliette. And nice try with the whole shaving his stomach thing, she was just looking for an excuse to touch him! Oh, and one other thing about this little love triangle, what about Kate's husband? I was certain LOST would address this but I think since she wasn't who she said she was the marriage didn't really count. But he was cute so I'd like to see him back again.
2. Okay so as much as I love Jack, he was looking like he put on a few in the opening scene, hello my new love for sawyer, haha jk, Jack and Kate forever! Also, where was his scar from the surgery?? And looks like he brought back the tears. Its been a while since we've seen Jack cry which is weird since he usually does in like every episode. But to be fair this was the first Jack flash forward we got all season. I don't care if he's a cry baby, I still love him.

3. I was right about Danielle and Karl being dead. Sad and shocking. I'm so curious about Miles' ghost whispering powers. Scary talent. Also, I did love how Sawyer gave Miles a restraining order. So Sawyer is super tender, again to my point that I think they will kill him off. Although, Jack did elude at the end of the episode that Sawyer chose to stay and Jack chose to leave the island after he saved Kate. So does that mean that Sawyer chooses not to save Kate? Or that he died and couldn't? I think he died and in his death scene that will come he asks Kate to look after his daughter Clementine.

4. So speaking of Clementine, Kate is sneaking around behind Jack's back to help out Sawyer. So I think that basically she is talking to Cassidy since they helped each other out pre island times. Clearly Jack is pissed that she is still concerned with Sawyer. She even referred to Sawyer as "him" so if he is alive maybe he makes it off the island and that's who Kate is referring to at the end of season 3 at the airport? So the fact that Sawyer is still around theoretically doesn't make me happy but whatever, the mere fact that Jack and Kate are engaged is enough to make me turn a blind eye on all that affects their relationship. PS nice rock and super tender proposal.

5. For this island being remote and what not, they certainly get lucky with their doctors and the fact that they can have multiple complicated surgeries. Granted appendectomies are like the easiest surgery out there, not speaking from experience, but surgery is still risky. If Jack comes bouncing back next episode like nothing happened I'll be a little skeptical. Why did he even get sick if he was on the island? He wasn't on Jacob's list so maybe the island won't help him like it does to others.

6. So Charlotte and Dan. Dan likes Charlotte, it seems like she was please to hear this from Jin. I don't think there's much behind it plot wise but I think the four people who came to the island are the nice ones and the boaties are evil. Also, it looks like they don't really know much about the island and they are just as clueless as the losties.

7. So smokey didn't kill Keamy or any of his men. It looked like only one was injured. Call me crazy but that looked like a pretty bad fight in which Keamy was the loser. I don't think bullets can kill smokey so how they heck did they survive it?

8. Okay so I don't think much theory wise happened in this episode, it was really all about the Jack Kate love triangle. But what I do think is important is that Jack was reading Alice in Wonderland to Aaron and the important quote which sums up a lot of the lost mythology was "who in the world am i? ah, that's the great puzzle". LOST makes tons of reference to this story, so that was an interesting little clue.

9. The great return of Christian Shephard. He appeared right after Hurley said he would and then again in the lobby of Jack's hospital. He was dressed in the clothes he was in his coffin and actually spoke to Jack. My theory on the appearance of people posthumously is that they are the island. Also he appeared not only to Jack but to Claire. Hopefully this will lead to the discovery that Jack and Claire are bro and sis. Perhaps Sawyer is involved in this since he is the only one who knows what Christian looks like as a point of reference other than Jack and Claire.

10. Scenes from the next looked awesome. An appearance by Horace Goodspeed, the man who brought Ben to the island and he admits to being dead for 12 years. I don't think he is Jacob but maybe he and Ben are working together. He does seem like he was the only Dharma that Ben liked. Looks like the rescue is getting closer too. Also, did anyone see the news after LOST? I saw the lead in story was tossing babies off a roof onto bed sheets? haha I was just hoping someone watched it and could explain!

See you all next week! Feel free to add your comments :)

Episode 9: The Shape of Things to Come

Welcome back! After a brief hiatus LOST was back in full swing last night with the beginning of their 5 episode streak until the finale at the end of May. So just to keep you in the loop, LOST is airing four more episodes, making the total for season 4 to 13 episodes. However, they added an extra hour on to the finale so technically we get an extra episode! Okay so before I get to my ten points, a quick recap of last night's awesome episode:

The episode opened with a tender moment between Jack and Kate, her watching him on the beach and him smiling back. Jack then made his way to a tent to take some meds after telling Kate he has a stomach bug. They discuss the freighter situation and Jack reassures Kate that he isn't worried about Desmond and Sayid and that they are coming to rescue them. All of a sudden a frantic Bernard is screaming for help and the crew runs out to the water to discover a dead body floating up to shore. Cause of death: slit throat.
We then are transported to Tunisia where we find Ben just waking up in the desert in a Dharma parka, a little wounded and disoriented. He is approached by two men and through a series of awesome kicks and brutal murder, Ben acquires their guns and horses. He rides off to a hotel in Tunisia and checks in as a preferred customer under a different name. He inquires about the date, October 23, 2005, and watches on the TV, coverage of Sayid at his wife's funeral.
Back on the island, team Locke is killing time playing some Risk when the phone rings. It's Alex typing in a security code into the fence. They inquire with Ben what the code 14-J means and Ben goes into insta-panic. Sawyer goes to save Claire, Hurley, and Aaron while Ben and Locke secure the house. Ben tells Locke he needs him to go with him to Jacob and get more instructions after this. 3 losties come out of the house and immediately get shot as Sawyer is trying to reach the others. He manages to get Claire after her house is blown up and join the others back in Ben's house, despite Ben's efforts to keep them out.
We flash forward to Ben off the island taking pictures of Sayid and one mystery guy at Sayid's wife Nadia's funeral. Sayid notices Ben up on the roof and mistaking him for paparazzi, he attacks Ben. Once he realizes, Ben explains to Sayid who he is after. Ishamel Bakir, an employee of Charles Whidmore. He tells Sayid how this man is responsible for Nadia's death. This then prompts Sayid to join team Ben and when Ben is following this man, he lures him into an alley where Sayid is waiting and Sayid executes Ishmael and then informs Ben that his life is over and he will help Ben terminate the people responsible for Nadia's death.
Back on the island, Jack and the other beach losties discuss the man they found on the shore. Daniel Farraday tells them that he was the ship's doctor and he has no idea what happened. They manage to fix the satellite phone to communicate via Morse code with the ship and Daniel says that the ship told him that everything is fine and they are coming in the morning. unlucky for him, Bernard understands Morse code and tells the group what the message really said which was "what are you talking about? the doctor is fine." Jack forces Daniel to admit that they were never going to rescue them. Shortly after this Jack collapses, looks like it's more than a stomach bug for Jack.
Back to team Locke in Othersville, Keamy from the boaties shows Ben that he has Alex held captive. He threatens to kill her unless he comes out. Ben tries to bluff them out by saying he stole Alex as a baby and doesn't care about her but he shoots her in the head. Ben is shocked and mutters something about "he changed the rules" and goes through a secret door. Moments later he reappears, tells everyone to head for the tree line when he says to. The smoke monster comes out of the woods and completely destroys the boaties. The crew then runs for the woods where they split up. Hurley willingly goes with Ben and Locke to find Jacob's house so that they others can return safely to the beach.
Flash forward to Ben off the island, we see him entering a hotel late at night. The penthouse suite belongs to Charles Whidmore. Ben surprises him in bed. Whidmore pours himself a glass of whiskey while they talk. Looks like Whidmore is mad that Ben stole his island and Ben is mad that he changed the rules and his daughter was killed. Ben assured Whidmore that he would hunt and kill his daughter, Penelope, then come back for him. Looks like Ben is looking for Whidmore's daughter and Whidmore is looking for the island.

1. Okay so first of all, Jack and Kate. Extremely tender moment between them in the opening scene. Clearly it made me very happy. This is a sign of good things to come. Clearly in the scenes from the next, a sick Jack is being tended to by Juliette and he forcefully says "I want Kate". Juliette cannot be trusted, nor can she get between Jack and Kate. I was very happy with last night's episode in regards to these two.

2. So we find out that Ben and Whidmore not only know each other personally, but they have some sort of game going on between them. There are apparent rules which Whidmore seemingly broke when Alex was killed. This relationship perplexes me. I understand why they are enemies, seemingly because Whimore was in control over the Dharma Initiative and when Ben initiated the purge, Whidmore lost control over the island. Ben is fighting to keep the island his. That much i understand. But what I can't really grasp is how the two can have rules to this game and what the heck are they? You can't kill my daughter? I don't know, that seems a little odd. If Whidmore wants the island back, why can't he go after Ben's daughter? But I'm scared for the Desmond Penny relationship!!! I love them!

3. Did anyone else feel Ben channeling Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men in that end scene? Creepy! I love Ben more and more as a character. He's so damn creepy and you can love him and hate him all in the same episode. I'm wondering if there i more to him that we don't know as far as how the island affects him. It seemed like in the beginning when he woke up in the desert, he was gasping for air. Maybe, somehow like Desmond, he can time travel. That's how he gets on and off the island so much. Also, his parka had the name Halliwax on it. This is the name that Marvin Candle used in one of the orientation videos ... just another Dharma connection.

4. So Bernard was pretty kick ass when he knew Morse code. Totally shocked Daniel Farraday. So that brings us to the question of why was he lying. I know they all supposedly work for Whidmore, who is the one we think is covering up the plane crash. So if he covered it up, clearly he wouldn't have his boaties coming to rescue the losties. So basically Daniel and Charlotte are kind of screwed with whatever they were trying to do.

5. So Jack has appendicitis. I figured that was it. Something life threatening but easily fixed. I mean I'm no doctor but i think that as far as medical procedures go, this isn't too tricky. So looks like Juliet is going to have so save him being the only doctor on the island besides Jack. But from the previews looks like Jack still doesn't trust Juliette and wants Kate to help him. Ugh Juliette is the WORST!!!

6. So Sayid married Nadia. That warms my heart. But the whole time I was thinking, what about Shannon? She died what, like two months ago not even? Quickly forgotten apparently! That being said, I do love the Sayid/Nadia love story and was happy to hear that he finally found her and married her. I'm assuming that story will be a Sayid flash forward. But in this episode we learned that Sayid joined up with Ben as a result of her death and his need for revenge. Makes sense. If the whole reason he was on the plane was to find Nadia, and then after he found her only to have her taken away by the island, I would be pissed too. I liked this episode in that it answered a lot of our questions. Who controls the island, why Sayid joined Ben, etc.

7. Honeslty, the whole Alex, Karl, Rousseau deaths, a bit shocking. The death toll for season 4 lost is pretty high. I'm really shocked at Ben's actions prior to Alex's death. It made sense for the show, Ben can't be caught yet, and the only way they would not kill Alex was to have Ben surrender, and that wasn't going to happen. I'm just surprised Ben thought he could reverse psychologize Kearmy. he seems like a pretty tough dude. Also, very sad that the last thing Alex heard was how her dad didn't love her.

8. Smokey - So big reveal, Ben controls smokey. That was a crazy scene when Ben called smokey to attack the boaties. It was scary. So as far as what it is, clearly a weapon of some sort. How you can make a weapon like that, looks like for now I'm defaulting to magic as the answer. Also the lair that Ben went in to in his house to call smokey, he obvio had to crawl into a small space, sort of reminiscent of Desmond having to crawl underground for the reset button for the hatch. So smokey is a part of the island and Ben has control over it.

9. I loved Sawyer in this episode. Playing the big protector. Although, I find it hard to believe that the boaties, who had sniper guns and surrounded the camp managed to miss Sawyer. I mean come on. Also that Claire's house was blown up but she was okay. That was some serious explosives. All that aside, loved how Sawyer wanted to protect her, Hurley, and the baby. I think they are playing up his good side so everyone loves him and in the finale they will kill him to gain maximum sympathy.

10. So Ben and company are off to get more instructions from Jacob. Hurley is the only one who knows how to get there. Not sure how that ties in. Maybe Hurley is like Miles, he can see dead people. And maybe that's how he can see Jacob. Jack and company are about to get scared when Jack gets ill, and then we get to see Kate and Juliet duke it out for his affections, with Kate obvio becoming the clear winner.

Woohooo can't wait until next week!!!

Episode Eight - Meet Kevin Johnson

Hi All! Let's get down to it ... sorry for the delay! But here is the last entry until the new episode April 24th!

Summary:

The episode began with a very weary looking Michael, someone we haven't seen since he and Walt left the island back at the end of season two, leaving in a boat following Ben's bearings of 325 for rescue. We then see that Michael did in fact make it off the island all the way to wonderful New York City and has shorter hair! Michael then gets into his car, pins a note to his chest, and takes off at very fast speeds, ultimately crashing into a wall in an attempted suicide. Unlucky or lucky for him, he survives. He wakes up in a hospital where Libby comes to bring him a blanket. She turns out to be a figment of his imagination and the real nurse asks him if he wants to contact Walt, the person to whom the note was addressed to. We then flash forward to Sayid and Desmond on the boat who take off to find Michael in the engine room. Sayid demands that Michael tells them where he has been and why he is there. We then flashback to Michael off the island trying to get in touch with Walt but his mother refusing to let him see him. Michael, then tries to end his life again in an alley, until Tom, aka Mr. Friendly, intervenes and tells him the island won't let him go. Michael makes one more suicide attempt and when he sees on the television that the remains on 815 have been found, he goes to meet him in his hotel. When Michael realizes he cannot end his life, he meets Mr. Friendly and he tells Michael how Ben needs him to be a spy on the boat and that Whidmore is responsible for faking the crash remains. Michael agrees to kill everyone on the freighter so that they will not harm the people on the island, as a sort of atonement for what he had done to Libby, Ana Lucia and the rest of the losties. We learn that Michael is responsible for the chaos on the boat and that he has put faith in Ben. He received a bomb and went to detonate it, only to find that it was just a test. Sayid, after learning he is officially working for Ben, turns him in to the captain. The only action we see on the island is that Ben pleads with Alex to leave and hide at the temple. So Danielle, Alex, and Karl set off for the Temple. When they stop to take a rest, both Karl and Danielle are fatally shot while Alex stands up and claims that she's Ben's daughter and not to shoot.

1. Okay so this was the last episode until it comes back on April 24th. Eh, I wasn't so impressed and maybe that's because I am a Michael hater, but I felt like it only told us stuff we already knew, it just sort of confirmed our suspicions. It was confirmed that Whidmore owns the boat and is trying to find the island, Michael is working for Ben, Michael made it off the island with Walt, and Michael is responsible for the death's and destruction on the boat. I mean, yes the concept is a little crazy, the island pulling Michael back to help, but also not so surprising. So I was a little annoyed with the writer's for making this be their last cliffhanger episode for a while. Especially since I don't even have scenes from the next to hold on to!

2. Karl and Danielle - well this was unexpected. When the hole was made in the water bottle I was confused. I really didn't think they would kill them, I thought maybe they would get away. And it was just weird since Alex and Karl were talking so normally. But once Karl was shot, you had to expect Danielle would get it next. It was sad though, they literally met what, like a week ago island time? But she was able to say her goodbyes so that was sweet. But I will miss crazy Karl and his mind warping adventures and Rousseau's crazy French talk! Clearly I think Ben set this up, seems like if they wanted to kill Alex they would have ... and we know Ben doesn't like either Karl or Danielle. But I doubt that Alex will ever forgive Ben for this one ...

3. Why oh why does season three have so little of my man Jack?! In the next five episodes we better get some good old Jack story! Why is he a crazy pill popper? Is his dad haunting him in the future? Will he ever find him in Jacob's shack? When will him and Kate get married and what will I wear to the wedding? haha

4. So how's that for irony, Michael commits murder to get Walt off the island only for him to feel so guilty he tells Walt and in turn Walt ends up hating him for being a murderer? Sounds like justice to me!

5. I'm glad he's being haunted by Libby but why not Ana Lucia? Was she meant to go because as Ben said she wasn't a good person? Libby was an accident so maybe that's why. I did love this episode because we got to see so many old losties! We saw Mr. Friendly, Libby, Naomie, and Minkowski. I feel like Libby is very important to the back story so we'll be seeing more of her. Her connection to Hurley in the mental hospital and Desmond's boat!

6. So, Mr. Friendly is gay. Although this too was always a suspicion, it was confirmed in this episode. Back in season 3 premiere, he asked Kate to put a dress on and commented how he wasn't interested. Although this gave us a little insight, I didn't really see how this affected the story at all.

8. So the bomb Michael opened on the boat was intense. At first I was shocked about how crazy Michael had become, but then I looked back to see he was always intense and crazy. It was a clever way to test his loyalty to Ben's mission. So the ominous warning of "not yet" ... i guess we'll have to wait and see what the next warning is.

9. Okay so now I think what the big question is, is who is really responsible for the fake wreckage of 815. According to Mr. Friendly and Ben, it's Whidmore because he wants to find and exploit the island for it's powers. According to the hot boat captain and Miles (who apparently spit the grenade out of his mouth) and the rest of the boaties it's Ben who will do anything to keep people away from the island. So who do we believe? I personally think it's Ben. He's crazy enough to kill his entire Dharma peeps, then why wouldn't he dig up 325 graves and sink an old plane to the bottom of the ocean and call is 815? He clearly has the money, Miles wants it from him, and he clearly has the motive, keeping people away from his precious island. So I guess only time will tell who we can believe!

10. So I think that the oceanic 6 will get off the island at the end of this season. We still have one more to be revealed as I thought Jin was one but after last week he clearly is not. Oh, and because I need to mention it every week, Juliet sucks!

until April 24th!!

Episode Seven - Ji Yeon

Happy Friday friends! So we're officially past the halfway part of this shortened season, and it's flying by so let's get to it!

Summary
So this week brought us a Sun-Jin centric episode! Sun had growing concerns that the boaties weren't going to rescue them so she made an executive decision to trek to Locke's camp and stay on the island despite Juliet's warnings of certain death if she stayed. Her plan was foiled however when Juliet learned of it and tried to stop her by spilling her secret of infidelity to Jin. This brought on a flash forward of Sun giving birth to a healthy baby girl post island. We also see Jin rushing like a mad man to get to who we think is Sun but scratch that, it's actually a flashback to pre-island times and Jin is running an errand for Paik Automotives. We then learn that Jin has since died and Hurley comforts Sun with the new baby while they visit Jin's grave. Back on the boat, Desmond and Sayid are finally allowed to visit the captain who is very forthcoming with information about his crew and the reason they are there- Ben Linus. We also see an appearance from the janitor aka Michael who we are to assume is Ben's contact on the boat. Other happenings on the boat include one of the crew member's suicide over the side of the boat and no one really moving to help her. Also we see blood stains on the wall from a previous murder or suicide. All good stuff!

1. Tricky tricky lost. A flash forward AND a flashback! I admit, i was confused at first but clearly the flashback was of the old Jin, which he was referencing himself when him and Sun were talking in the tent. They had me with the whole Panda deal, i thought he was rushing to Sun's side. And i briefly thought he had since divorced her and re-married, but why would he still be working for Mr. Paik then?

2. Sad times we lost Jin, didn't see that one coming. I guess we will find out how he died in future episodes. So does this mean he is an Oceanic Six or no? I thought he was the final oceanic six but maybe he died before then, although that wouldn't explain why his body was buried wherever they are. Also, I'm pretty sure his tombstone read 2004, which is when the plane crashed, and it's currently Christmas time on the island so he either dies like tomorrow, or that freaky time thing is going on. Or they lied and said he died in the plane crash. I have to go back and look at the tombstone but if it said 9-22-04 then he is not an Oceanic 6!

3. Sun is just really pretty, great casting.

4. Juliet - god she still sucks, I mean I know she told Jin Sun's secret for Sun's protection but she just wants people to hate her. She is miserable!

5. Woah Michael on the boat! I was convinced that was too obvious and they would throw us someone else, I was hoping patchy! I wish they hadn't had his name in the credits so we would have been more surprised. Haha and he's a janitor! Serves him right for being such a jerk on the island! And where is his precious Walt that he needed so badly? And what exactly is he doing on the boat? He's obviously trying to keep it there by ruining the engines and communications room but for what purpose? You would think Ben wants them gone, UNLESS he wants them all to go crazy, run out of food, die, etc. But they do have a helicopter to get to the island so who knows. And don't you think Michael would try to destroy that?

6. So those boaties really want Ben huh? We also get a confirmation to a suspicion we all had that Charles Whidmore is behind the boat's mission. Also we learned that there actually was wreckage that was discovered as Oceanic 815 and that Ben was behind it. The captain had a point, how does he have the resources to pull off something like that? And he clearly isn't working with Charles Whidmore, so what kind of beef does Caleb, oh scratch that- OC reference, Charles Whidmore have with Ben?

7. So the boat seems like a really gross place to be. How the heck are mice there? Speaking from recent experience with mice, i would be jumping off that boat and swimming for shore. And the captain is trying to blame it on cabin fever? i don't think so! I can't even speculate about what's happening. But what i do like is the hottness of the captain! yowsas!

8. Oh and last week I forgot to speculate that in the video that Ben showed to Locke, of Mr Whidmore holding someone captive, it looks like Patchy! Haha I'm grasping at strings here to have him come back. Also another thing I wanted to mention was Myles, is he still chewing on that grenade?

9. They threw us a fun little hint in that Nikki's TV show Expose was playing in Sun's room when she went in to labor!

10. I would really like a Jack-centric episode soon, i miss his hottness! Also I loved that Kate still wanted to tell Jack that Sun was leaving. She loves him, he loves her. end of story! :)

okay, well until next week!

Episode Six - The Other Woman

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the new format of how I will be sending out my weekly top ten list for my favorite show, LOST! I'm also adding a new element to it which will be a short recap of the episode, and then I will discuss my favorite and important elements to last night's show. So I hope you enjoy!

Summary
This episode began with the traditional format of the flashback. We saw Juliet in her awkward first week on the island chatting with the island's therapist in residence Harper Stanhope. Through Juliet's flashback we find that she is lonely on the island, soon taking up a relationship with her therapist's husband, Goodwin. We also delved into the history behind Ben and Juliet that was referred to in the season 3 premiere. Ben has a heart crush on Juliet, and when he finds out about Juliet and Goodwin, he did all that he could to stop it. He sent Goodwin out to explore the lostie's crash, thus endangering him with the horrible Ana Lucia. After Juliet pleaded to Ben at the creepy dinner they had to bring Goodwin home, Ben thought it was necessary to show Juliet Goodwin's body and let her know that she belonged to him. As for the real time on the island, Juliet and Jack ventured off into the jungle after Charlotte and Farraday to stop them before they reached the Tempest (the newest Dharma station), per Ben's orders via Harper. Juliet was instructed to shoot both of the boaties, however once Juliet was able to escape from Jack and continue on her mission, she failed to eliminate them and Daniel and Charlotte were able to render the poisonous gasses inert, thus "saving" the island and all it's inhabitants from Ben's plot to gas everyone. Back in Othersville, Ben was able to strike a deal with Locke by telling him some of the island's secrets. He revealed who the boaties were working for, Mr. Whidmore, and thus in exchange was allowed to live among Locke's party.

Now for my top 10!

1. Rage. It's how I ended the episode and I think we all know why. Jack and Juliet shared a kiss, but I have to say a few things about it. A. It was not NEARLY as great as the kiss between Jack and Kate in season two. B. No tongue. C. It was totally a pity kiss because Jack is a good guy, he felt bad for her and so he planted a friendly kiss on her. Haha, I think you all should just accept that I will never accept this kiss. End of story.

2. Harper Stanhope- She is another creepy one. I also think she is part of the original inhabitants, a la Richard Halpert. She probably doesn't age for whatever reason. She seems to know a lot about the island but still follows Ben (just like Richard A.) and she just showed up in the middle of the jungle.

3. Juliet- You all know I don't like her but I will admit that this was a good episode. She does appear to be a nicer person than I thought and this episode was certainly trying to make you feel badly for her but I think it could be a ploy to make us all think she is a good redeemable person but in reality LOST wants to shock us all and make her bad. Plus, she sure got over Goodwin pretty fast and moved on to Jack. She's a man eater .... but she does win for best line of the night when Jack inquired about the therapist they had on the island and Juliet retorts "It's very stressful being an other, Jack."

4. Jack and Kate - He rushed to her aid right away, and it was a tender moment. Although I must say, this island sure appears to be pretty small. Pretty convenient the way they just all happen to stumble upon each other. Also, Jack was looking good as always :)

5. Mr Whidmore- Okay so I don't think it's too big of a surprise that he is involved with the island. He seems to take a deep interest in the island last week when he was the winning bidder on the Black Rock's log and all of his products keep showing up on the island (preggers tests, whiskey, hot air balloon). Ben explained as though he wants to exploit the island for it's powers. I guess that could be true, but I find it hard that he has all that money and couldn't find it until now. Nor do I think he is involved with the Dharma people who I think the boaties are. So I'm not really sure how they are connected.

6. Sun- Umm why would the pregnant lady run off into the jungle in the middle of the night in the rain to look for them. If i was pregnant on a freaky island, i would say hell no to any sort of activity and ask people to bring me dharma chocolate while i sat on the beach and waited for rescue.

7. Who's on the boat? I think a good guess is Michael. If Ben told him to head on one point and he would find rescue, it makes sense that he would run into that boat. They will probably show us a flashback in which Ben will have Michael go on this mission. Although I don't know why Michael would have any allegiance to Ben, unless he promised him money or something. Also I think Walt actually is on the island, hence is appearance to Locke in season 3 finale. This doesn't make me happy though because I really don't like Michael, waaaaay too whiny.

8. What is up with this chemical? Goodwin couldn't tell people he was working on it. He had some sort of mission like Desmond's where the fate of the island, perhaps the world, was in his hand with the push of a button. And why would Ben want to kill everyone again?

9. I think I'm going to give up, for now at least, on who is good and who is bad. It seems like each week I am torn between Ben and the boaties. I can't keep up. Although I loooooooooved when Ben was walking across from house to house in Othersville and when he came upon the puzzled looks from Sawyer and Hurley he just replied with "See you at dinner guys" Hahaha so funny! Oh and another thing, the therapist Harper, she mentioned that Juliet looks just like "her". Who is this "her"? Could it be Ben's mom, 'cause that would be creepy! Or does Ben have an other wifey?

10. Leave it to lost to amp up Ben's creepiness even more. His whole obsession with Juliet was pretty comical up until the end. When he was making dinner I couldn't help but laugh, but then at the end when he showed Goodwin's body to Juliet as his triumph, it was really creepy. Great casting with this guy, he's such a great character.

Well, I tried to keep the points shorter for you all, this episode was pretty good, nothing too huge happened, except for a little blip that i will no longer discuss as i don't think it is important to anyone (ahem, Jack and Juliet lovers). But I do want to clarify something in last week's email ... there are no actual easter eggs in the show, that is what they call it when clues pop up, like the numbers, or one character shows up in anothers flashback, that kind of thing. Haha sorry, sometimes I get lost in my dorky lingo.

Anywho, hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to comment!

Episode Five - The Constant

Hello!

Happy Friday! So yes, I think I'm probably a huge dork since I took the day off and I'm still writing to you, now that's dedication! I only hope you all actually read it and like it, haha! So, I went out last night for a friend's bday and only just finished the episode. So let's get down to it!

1. Woah. Freaky time travel. Okay so clearly this explained A LOT. I'm assuming we're supposed to assume that this time travel thing has been happening to him since the hatch exploded, an obvious side effect of the radiation and electromagnetism. It just appears that his travel off of the island intensified the side affects, that being his split consciousness in different times. So this kind of reminded me of the matrix. The disconnect between the body and the brain, you can't really exist in both places and Daniel was trying to get him to choose a place, find the constant, to keep him sane enough in one place. Luckily he chose the future so he can still interact with the losties, although i gotta tell ya, Desmond with the short hair, i like.

2. Jack - still very hot, but wasn't in it much. I'm actually okay with jack-less eps so long as an other hot person takes their place. Or a good story line, and in this one we got both!

3. TONS of hidden easter eggs in the episode, pretty obvious ones. I trust you all notice the reference to the black rock and the auctioning off of the never before read diary ... i wonder if we shall see that come into play. My guess is no since it was discovered 7 years after the boat crash or something. Or did he say 7 years ago, because that would be interesting. Also the numbers made some appearances. We still haven't figured that one out, maybe Daniel will help with that.

4. Merry Christmas losties ... maybe Kate will stop being a crazy person and get with Jack for his present! Either that or it would be a Christmas gift for me if Juliet was killed off!

5. Speaking of deaths, I hate to say it but I think Desmond might be next. Clearly this time travel thing takes a toll on the body, I was just surprised to see how fast it affected him all of a sudden. But he made his connect with Penny, told her he loved her, so he's kind of resolved, and i think that would be a pretty big death for the show, enough to shock everyone. Either him or Claire.

6. Okay, so Sayid, he's good with electronics, i get it. But that communications room looked pretty bad. How the hell did he get that phone fixed in like two seconds! come on!

7. Daniel Farraday - he's becoming a fave, i love his quirkiness. He's taking over my love for patchy, whom i still miss. But from the end, we were supposed to assume he suffers from the time travel disease as well? Why haven't we seen him go all comatose? He has a greater mission clearly but lord knows when we will find out. Looks like he'll be concocting more experiments in next week's episode.

8. Who is the secret helper on the boat? I've heard people say Michael but I doubt it. I mean, when Ben let him off the island he gave him bearings, which I would be curious to see if they were the same ones that the helicopter pilot was following, and Ben said they would find rescue. But Ben clearly doesn't like these boaties so why would he send Michael there? It's probably someone we haven't met yet.

9. Time travel kind of hurts my head when I think about it. I think I enjoyed lost more when it was more realistic like they were all just stuck on an island. It's a little far fetched but I guess they're playing it off well. Did anyone ever see the movie "Contact"? It was terrible. Not sure why i brought it up, time travel i suppose but it was a crappy movie, yet i don't change the channel when it's on.

10. Next week looks like its shaping up to be a Juliet centric episode. She is awful, when will she go away, we can only pray next week will be her demise. Also, not a huge fan of this Charlotte person. Basically anyone that gets in the way of Kate and Jack. :) Oh and I forgot to mention Minkowski - holler to the guy from Johnny 5!

Okay well off to enjoy my day off! Until next week!

Episode Four - Eggtown

Hi Everyone,

Okay so last night was episode four and it was one of my fave character’s – Kate! So me and some friends tried out a new place in NYC – Professor Thom’s and they have a lost watch night – big screens and the whole place quiets down for the show, lots of fun basically. I passed on the Hurley burger and got a grilled cheese and it was delicious! The Jack’s Nacho’s were also a big hit J Anywho let’s get to it! My top ten point list of the week!

1. First things first, Jack and Kate. Big steps seemed to have been made in their relationship off the island. Jack was defending Kate in the courtroom, and even though he said he didn’t love her anymore to the jury, that was clearly proved wrong at the end when he wanted to go grab coffee. I am absolutely convinced they have some sort of love affair off the island because they have a special meeting spot at the airport. So I wonder when they actually do. Before Jack goes crazy but after the courtroom? Jack and Kate foreverrrrr J

2. Baby Aaron – Okay so this was the big surprise of the episode, and actually they made it pretty obvious in the beginning with Kate and Claire talking about Aaron, but honestly I didn’t really see Kate becoming a mother post crash. So I guess this answers the “he” question from season 3 finale. I sort of thought it was her ex husband (Kate racks up some pretty hot exes) but alas, it was her “son”. So the question now is, is it really Claire’s Aaron or is it Kate’s baby whom she named Aaron. I’m pretty sure it’s Claire’s baby. He’s blonde (but so is Sawyer) and he’s pretty old already, I’m assuming Kate’s trial happened pretty quickly after the crash since she was so high profile. So now we have to wonder why Claire never made it off the island and Kate has her baby. Also, didn’t the prophet say bad things would happen if anyone besides Claire was to raise the baby? Did anyone else think the baby looked different, omg I’m so bad. Haha.

3. 8 crash survivors – Okay so in the trial Jack said only 8 people survived the crash. So clearly he is lying, and the Oceanic 6 are covering something up which we all knew. So I’m thinking he said 8 because they are going to confess that 2 people died, one of which will be Claire, and that’s how Kate got the baby. I’ve actually thought that Claire would die before the series ended because her back story was kind of weak. Besides her and Jack being half brother and sister, which by the way I can’t wait for them to find out, she really doesn’t have much more to offer the show. Usually when people are in pairs, i.e Shannon and Boone, Nikki and Paulo, they don’t survive much longer without the other. So since Charlie bit the dust, my fear is Claire doesn’t have much longer.

4. Jack and Claire as bro and sis – I can’t wait for this one to happen but I really hope lost let’s them both know while they are on the island. Poor Jack really doesn’t have much luck with family so I’d like for him to at least know that Claire is his sister. But, if he finds out after the island maybe that’s what makes him crazy and want to go back, to find her. Also is this why he doesn’t want to see the baby? Because he knows it’s his nephew and maybe something bad happened to take Aaron away from Claire and he doesn’t agree with it? Or does Aaron have some sort of weird powers a la Walt and it freaks Jack out? OR is it Sawyer and Kate’s real baby and that makes Jack mad? Haha just some food for thought…

5. Miles and Ben – switching from my Jack Kate obsession, let’s chat about the Miles and Ben aspect. $3.2 million. So specific, and Ben questioned that. Pretty ballsy for Miles to risk his life to get to the island only to ask for money, doesn’t really make too much sense to me. Why do these people want Ben? My only guess at this point is that they are old Dharma, looking to punish him for the purge. But if Ben is good, which is what I think the show is trying to make us think, then the boaties have to be bad and I don’t think Dharma are bad people. They actually wanted to learn from the island. But the boaties clearly don’t like the original inhabitants so that’s why I think they are Dharma, back for revenge!

6. I miss Patchy. Seriously, I’m hoping he isn’t dead because for some reason I just loved that guy. Maybe I have a thing for one eyed bad guys!

7. Juliet still sucks at life. I can’t wait until she dies, which clearly she has to since there was only an Oceanic 6 and if they lied about the number of survivors, then they certainly wouldn’t tell people about the people already there. Also she sucks, did I mention that? And if her and Jack make out again I might throw something at the TV.

8. Locke is starting to annoy me. I hope he loses all his followers, which we know he will since in the season premiere Hurley said he shouldn’t have followed Locke. Looks like Sawyer is going to stay with Locke since he and Kate got in that big fight, which although I love Kate, Sawyer had a point. She never makes up her mind and she should be glad she isn’t preggers. Doesn’t she remember that pregnant women die on the island? That was a pretty hot scene, coming from a jack and Kate lover. Also, where did Kate get all the nice new lingerie? Also the first thing I would do once I got to Othersville is shower!! Come one people!

9. Also, when they were reading Kate’s charges, I was impressed. I had forgotten she had racked up so many! And I’m no lawyer, but I find it extremely doubtful that she would get off with just probation. Murder, robbing a bank, assault on multiple police, and her getting her childhood bf killed would never get off that easy. But I guess with this show we need a little suspension of disbelief and by little I mean a lot. Also, why did she stop Jack’s time on the witness stand? She seemed really uncomfortable about him saying all these good things about her but then as soon as they got outside she was all smiles and wanted to be chatty and flirty with him. Well obvio she didn’t do everything he said but it was clear he loves her and she was not down with that. Ohhh Kate when will you stop being so difficult and just get with Jack! PS Kate has a sweet house, guess Oceanic settled big!

10. I think I def like my Jack to be scruffy and not so clean cut. And he’s currently in NYC to promote Vantage Point … soooo I’m clearly down for some stalking if anyone is interested.

Okay so that was pretty long. Feel free to comment, add your theories or just read! Next week I will be out of the office on Friday but I will still try to write one, might not make it until Monday. If you know anyone else who wants to be on the email let me know. Have a wonderful weekend in the snow everyone!

XOXO
Bridget
